Originally from Scotland, Kirstie began her career working in pre-clinical research for human drug formulation studies at Charles River Laboratories, Edinburgh before moving into medical device R&D. In 2014 Kirstie made the move to New Zealand where she set up a R&D laboratory at Dentsply Sirona and was part of a small team working on innovation, design and development of medical devices for the dental industry. During this time she ran multiple international trials for new product development alongside her role as laboratory manager. Kirstie then moved into the Horticulture industry working as Laboratory & Quality Manager for Eurofins BOP and overseeing 500+ laboratory staff contracted by Zespri for the busy kiwifruit season.

Most recently Kirstie has been running operations for the Food & Bioanalytical division at Hill Laboratories in Hamilton, managing operations for the analytical chemistry laboratories covering honey chemistry and GLP testing, as well as LC and GC instrumentation.

Kirstie is an experienced leader having successfully managed large teams across multiple locations. She is passionate about innovation, quality and continuous improvement. Her history of working in a variety of scientific industries has given her excellent insight into laboratory operations and she is committed to maintaining excellent service for her customers.

In her spare time Kirstie enjoys literature, film, music and comedy. She tries to spend as much time as she can outdoors exploring New Zealand. She is based in Auckland with her two cats, Ziggy and Luna.
