Jenni began her working life as a Microbiologist in the dairy and veterinary vaccine industry then returned to Massey University to complete her veterinary degree in 1990. After graduating she spent 3 years in small animal practice in Sydney. She then went back to Massey and completed a combined PhD/residency in pathology. Her research was on the prevalence of equine herpesvirus types 1 & 4 in horses in New Zealand.

After completion of the PhD in 1998, Jenni took up an Instructor position in Clinical Pathology at the University of Missouri. This was a teaching and diagnostic role with time for study which lead to the successful completion of the examination for the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in Clinical Pathology in September 2000. Jenni returned to New Zealand in October 2000 and has worked in veterinary diagnostic laboratories since. Her interests are in cytology, haematology, biochemistry and endocrinology with a bent towards companion animal and equine medicine.

In her spare time Jenni can be found in the garden, on her bike or at the archery range shooting arrows.
