Dr Amy Weeden
BSc., DVM, Diplomate ACVP
Amy is originally from New York and earned a B.Sc (Biology) there before obtaining her DVM at Louisiana State University. After a couple of years in small animal practice in North Carolina, she moved to Colorado State University to pursue an internship in animal shelter medicine. She then followed this up with several years in Denver working in small animal hospitals and volunteering in animal shelters. Amy then decided to focus on clinical pathology and completed her clinical pathology residency at the University of Florida. She gained her ACVP board certification in clinical pathology in 2015.
Amy enjoys all aspects of clinical pathology and has written numerous publications with the general practitioner in mind. She is very happy to be adding her skill set to our pool of exceptional pathology staff and looks forward to being a friendly and helpful resource for the New Zealand veterinary community.
Outside of work Amy likes to spend time outdoors with her husband and is a keen long distance runner and triathlete.
