Fraser graduated from Massey University with a Batchelor of Veterinary Science with distinction in 1984. After five years in mixed rural practice and three years in research, Fraser joined the MAF laboratories as an intern pathologist. After completing membership examinations in anatomical pathology Fraser undertook a pathology residency at University of California, Davis.
Fraser passed the Australian Fellowship examination in Veterinary Anatomical Pathology in 1998. He regularly publishes in the national veterinary press and has many peer reviewed papers. Fraser is active in veterinary continuing education, most recently coordinating production of an online cattle reproduction course.
Fraser’s main areas of interest include production animal’s diseases and reproduction problems with an ongoing interest in BVD. Personal interests are guitar, sailing and soccer.
